8 Teams to Manage in FM27

Coventry City

The Sky Blues are back in the Premier League for the first time in 25 years after winning the SkyBet Championship earlier in the year. Those 25 years have been a rollercoaster for the West Midlands side, including relegation to the fourth tier in 2017 and periods playing away from their home ground.

Ahead of their return to the big time, Coventry strengthened the squad. Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth and midfielder Frank Onyeka had their loans converted to permanent moves, while new additions such as Aurèle Amenda, Loum Tchaouna, Caleb Yirenkyi and Taiwo Awoniyi add quality throughout side.

In season one, your job is simple – ensure Coventry’s stay in the top-flight continues for a second season at least.

London City Lionesses

Founded in 2019, London City Lionesses have enjoyed a remarkable rise in the standings of the women’s game.

Following their Barclays Women’s Championship title success in 2024-25, they became the first independent team to compete in the Barclays WSL last season, finishing sixth.

This summer they made a major splash in the transfer market, with their signings including Spain international Alexia Putellas, goalkeeper Mary Earps and forward Nicole Anyomi.

Your job is to turn this star-studded squad into a title-winning side capable of disrupting the established order and lifting the BWSL trophy.

Leicester City

10 years ago, Leicester City were basking in the glory of one of the most iconic seasons in football history after their run to the Premier League title.

It’s been tougher going in recent years for the Foxes though and they now find themselves in Sky Bet League One after successive relegations.

An immediate return to the second tier is the bare minimum for your first season in the dugout, and you’ll have a strong squad to play thanks to summer arrivals like Conor Chaplin, Wes Burns and Admir Bristric. Once you’re back in the Sky Bet Championship, you can start building towards an eventual return to the summit of English football.

Crystal Palace F.C. Women

The Eagles are back in the Barclays WSL this season after a dramatic final day in Barclays WSL2 saw them finish as runners-up and earn promotion.

The South London side have added former England international Bethany England to the squad to bring invaluable leadership and experience, while fellow new additions Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, Sierra Enge and Caitlin Cosme add more quality throughout the side.

Last time they were at this level, Palace were relegated at the first attempt. Can you avoid an instant return to BWSL2 this time around and keep them up in an expanded league?

Suwon Samsung Bluewings

The four-time K LEAGUE 1 champions are facing their third successive campaign in the second tier after narrowly missing out on promotion last season.

When you step into the dugout, your mission will be to right that wrong and achieve promotion back to the top division of South Korean football.

Essential to that will be getting the most from the club’s star players, including defensive midfielder Ho-Yeon Jung, veteran centre-back Jeong-Ho Hong along with striker Fabián Mina.

Bristol City FC

Bristol remains England’s largest city to have never had a Premier League club – a record prime for you to break in FM27.

Bristol City are now entering their 12th successive season in the Sky Bet Championship but head into this campaign after an impressive summer window that saw them invest in two new strikers: Dom Ballard and Lorent Tolaj.

With the expanded play offs in the Sky Bet Championship this season, giving six teams a crack at the final promotion place, can you finally reach the promised land?

Stranraer

The Blues are one of the oldest teams in Scottish football and are quickly approaching their 160th anniversary. Despite that history and longevity, the Blues have never played in Scottish football’s top flight.

When you load up FM27, you’ll take the reins at Stair Park in William Hill Scottish League Two. They’ve started well this season in real life, so can you make good on that and deliver an immediate promotion?

From there, it’ll be about smart recruitment and sharp tactics to ensure you break new ground in time for the club’s big birthday.

BK Hacken

The Wasps won their second successive Damallsvenskan title last season, powered by the goals of Felicia Schröder. In addition to their domestic success last term, they also clinched a continental title.

While Schröder has now departed, they still have a strong squad led by goalkeeper Jennifer Falk, forward Anna Anvegard and American Tabby Tindell.

Your mission is to continue their domestic dominance, bringing through the next generation and challenging for the biggest prize in women’s football, the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

That completes our list of 8 teams to consider taking charge of in FM27. It’s time for you to make the call on where you start and start making your footballing vision a reality. Let us know which club you decided to manage on our socials @FootballManager.
